Incident Summary 25th July Night shift
16:45 Garden Lane, Sherburn in Elmet
Crews from Tadcaster, Selby and Pontefract responded to a stubble field fire believed to have been caused deliberately. Fire measured 100m x 30m and was spreading towards recycling centre. Crews extinguished using 2 hose reels and some farm machinery.
17:43 Winton, Northallerton
Northallerton crews were returning from a previous incident and came across a single vehicle traffic road traffic collision. A car had collided into some trees. No persons were trapped. Crews assisted at scene until arrival of Ambulance crews. Scene left with Police.
18:26 St Nicholas Cliff, Scarborough
Scarborough crew responded to assist 5 people stuck in a lift in a hotel. Crews used lift keys to release the lift doors and allow occupants to exit safely.
18:58 Guisborough Road, Aislaby, Whitby
Crews from Whitby ad Lythe attended a two vehicle road traffic collision. One person was trapped. Crew stabilised the vehicle and removed the side of the car to allow the casualty to be released from vehicle. Two people in the other vehicle had minor injuries and all three casualties were taken to Hospital.
19:13 St Peters Fields, Clifton, York
Acomb crew investigated reports of a fire sighted on the fields. After inspection this was confirmed to be under supervision by a responsible person and Fire Service intervention was not required.
19:52 Bridge Street, York
Tadcaster crews came across a casualty who had been clipped by a bus and had minor injuries. Crews administered first aid until arrival of Ambulance.
19:56 Marine Drive, Scarborough
Scarborough crews responded to reports of a fire sighted on the beach near the skate park. Crew investigated and confirmed was was being supervised by responsible person. Crew gave advice.
03:16 York Road, Green Hammerton
Crews from Acomb responded to reports of smoke in kitchen of commercial premises. Crews used two breathing apparatus and one hose reel jet to extinguish the fire. A thermal imaging camera was used to check for hotspots and then a positive pressure ventilation fan was used to air out the property. The cause was deemed as accidental.
03:19 Albermarle Crescent, Scarborough
Scarborough crews assisted Ambulance Service with lifting a casualty down two flights of stairs and into an Ambulance.
Automatic fire alarm activations were investigated by crews from Whitby, Skipton, Easingwold, Harrogate and York. All confirmed to be false alarms.
