Ongoing Incident at Wykeham Forest

Update 3rd August 8:30am

The incident was scaled down at around 3pm yesterday.

A crews remained on scene until late lat night damping down hotspots.

A revisit is due to take place this morning,

Ongoing incident within Wykeham forest with fire measuring 20 x 20 metres, consisting of trees, bushes and undergrowth. This incident includes five appliances from North Yorkshire including their Argocat from Kirkbymoorside and a Water Bower from Tadcaster. Location of fire was found using W3W location given by passing cyclist who reported first sighting of fire at 11:41am. Please can we advise that all members of the public stay clear of this area while firefighting tactics are in use.
