Incident Summary – Night Shift 6th August
Time: 17.25 Location: Ings Road, Lower Dunsforth
Crews from Ripon, Knaresborough and Richmond responded to a report of a sheep that had fallen from a river bank into the river. Crews used the Swift Water rescue sled to cross the river to the location of the sheep and then used crew power to move it to the river bank where it was released unharmed.
Time: 17.25 Location: Broad Lane, Cawood
A Crew from Selby responded to a report of an electrical meter on fire. The fire was extinguished by the residents prior to fire service arrival using a dry powder extinguisher. Crews isolated the electricity to the meter and requested the attendance of the Electricity Board.
Time: 17.32 Location: Main Street, Ebberston
A crew from Pickering responded to a request to assist Ambulance crews with the extrication of a patient from their property to an Ambulance to be taken to hospital. Crew power only used.
Time: 18.15 Location: Pear Tree Avenue, Long Drax
A crew from Selby responded to a request from Ambulance to assist with the extrication of a casualty from their property into an Ambulance to be taken to hospital. Crew power only used.
Time: 19.48 Location: St Nicholas Street, Scarborough
Crews from Scarborough, Pickering and Robin Hoods Bay responded to a report of a cellar that was full of smoke in a residential premises. On arrival of the crews the cellar was found to be lightly smoke logged. The cause is believed to have been rubbish and a cigarette which had fallen into the cellar through a grate from outside. Crews used 1 hose reel jet to extinguish.

A crew from Pickering on their way back from the earlier incident in Scarborough, responded to a report of a fire to a grass verge. The fire which measured approx 1m x 1m was out on arrival of the crews. Crews used 1 hose reel jet to dampen down the area.
Time: 21:44 Location: Westbourne Grove, Scarborough
Crew from Scarborough assisted paramedics gaining entry to a property due to concerns for the welfare of the occupant. Crews gained entry using small tools. Occupier was not home.
Time: 21:47 Location: York
Crew from York were mobilised to assist a person after a lift broke down. On arrival of crews the occupant was already out of the lift.
Time: 23:09 Location: Ledsham
Crew from Tadcaster were mobilised to reports of a bonfire. This was found to be a controlled burn under supervision. Advice given.
Time: 02.06 Location: Commercial Street, Tadcaster
A Crew from Tadcaster responded to a report of a litter bin on fire in a bus station. On arrival the crews found the bin 100% fire damaged. Crews used 1 hose reel jet to extinguish the bin and attempted to clear the resulting litter.

A crew from Selby responded to a report of a fire in a wooded area. This incident was ongoing at time of publication.
Crews from Scarborough and York also attended automatic fire alarm activations. After inspection these were found to be false alarms.
