Incident Summary – Day Shift 11th August
Time: 09.46 Location: Fossway, York
A crew from Tadcaster responded to a request to assist carers to gain entry to a premises for them to assist the occupant. Crews used short extension ladder to access the premises through an open window. Crews allowed access for the carers and left the occupant in their hands.
Time: 09.47 Location: Birch Park, Huntington
Crews from York and Acomb responded to a report of a fire at an industrial premises. Crews used 2 Breathing Apparatus and 1 Hose Reel Jet to locate the Lithium Ion Power pack battery causing the fire and extinguish it.
Time: 10.27 Location: Cedar Grove, York
A crew from York responded to a report of a fire in a garden. On arrival crews found the fire to a domestic bin had been extinguished by the occupant of the address. The fire had spread to the neighbouring conservatory affecting the facias and guttering. Crews used 1 hose reel jet and Thermal imaging camera to extinguish and dampen down the area.

Crews from Selby, York Snaith (Humberside FRS) and Pontefract (West Yorks FRS) responded to a Make Pumps 4 field fire that affected approximately 200m x 200m of area.
Time: 11.28 Location: Dalton Airfield Industrial Estate, Thirsk
A crews from Thirsk and Ripon responded to a report of a forklift battery on fire in a warehouse. The fire was out on arrival of the crews. Crews monitored hot spots and dampened down the area using 1 hose reel jet and Thermal imaging camera until the battery temperature had reduced to safe levels.

A crew from Colburn responded to a report of a fire smoldering in a woodland. Crews located a fire measuring approx 0.5 x 0.5 metres and extinguished it using knapsack sprayers.

A person self presented at Northallerton Fire station with a ring stuck on their finger. Crews used small tools and ring cutter to remove the ring.
Time: 12.57 Location: Stainsacre Lane, Whitby
Crews from Whitby and Robin Hoods Bay responded to a report of a fire to biomass in a service yard. Crews extinguished the fire using 4 Breathing Apparatus and 2 45mm Hose.

A crew from Stokeslety responded to a request for assistance with scene safety for a single vehicle road traffic collision due to fuel leaking from the vehicle. Crews used environmental packs to clean up the fuel spill.
Time: 14.39 Location: Givendale, Ripon
Crews from Ripon, Harrogate and Northallerton responded to a report of a field of standing crops on fire. On arrival the crew found a fire covering approx 300m x 300m. Crews fought the fire while farm machinery was used to create fire breaks.

A crew from Colburn responded to a report of smoke seen coming from the garden of a property. On arrival the crews found the smoke to be coming from a controlled burn which was under supervision. The responsible person extinguished the fire with the fire service in attendance.

Crews from York, Huntington and Northallerton responded to a report of a field fire. On arrival crews found a fire measuring 400m x 400m crews used 4 hose reel jets and assistance from farmers to create fire breaks to extinguish the fire.
Time: 16.17 Location: Bolton Abbey
Crews from Skipton (x2), Grassington, and Harrogate responded to a report of a fire to a railway embankment. This incident is ongoing at time of publication.
Time: 16.18 Location: Market Weighton Road, Barlby
Crews from Malton and Selby responded to a report of a combine harvester on fire. The driver of the combine had fought the fire with an extinguisher and crews cooled hotspots using 1 hose reel jet.
Time: 16.58 Location: Church Square, Whitby
A crew from Whitby responded to a request for assistance to gain access to a premises due to concerns for the occupant. On arrival the crew found the door unlocked and no fire service action was required.
