Incident Summary – 19th August 2026, Nightshift
Time: 17:25 Location: Haxby Road, York
York and Acomb’s Ariel Ladder Platform appliance assisted ambulance crews with the extrication of a patient from inside their property via the second floor window. The patient was taken to hospital via road ambulance.
Time: 17:36 Location: Staynor Link, Selby
Selby assisted police with gaining entry to a property using a door enforcer to administer help to the occupant inside. The occupant was taken to hospital via road ambulance.
Time: 19:46 Location: Romanby Road, Northallerton
Northallerton responded to a person accidentally trapped inside a bathroom after a door mechanism failure. Crews used small tools only and the person was released safely.
Time: 19:49 Location: A169, Pickering
A crew from Malton responded to reports of a fire seen from the A169 in a layby. This was a BBQ under supervision but was extinguished by the responsible person after advice from fire crews.
Time: 20:17 Location: West Burton
Hawes responded to reports of flames seen in the area. Crews located a rubbish fire measuring 5 x 5 metres in the open and extinguished it using a hose reel jet.
Time: 21:00 Location: Royal Albert Drive, Scarborough
A crew from Scarborough responded to a vehicle which was well alight. Crews used a hose reel jet to extinguish and dampen down. The incident was left with the vehicle owner to arrange recovery.
Time: 01:21 Location: The Avenue, Harrogate
Harrogate responded to flooding inside a residential flat after a burst pipe from a sink. The occupant had isolated all water to the flat prior to fire crews arrival however crews used small tools to isolate the sink only to allow the occupant to use water until a plumber could attend during daylight hours.
Time: 03:51 Location: Rowntree Avenue, York
Crews from York and Acomb responded to a bin fire inside a residential property. The fire was out on arrival and crews dampened down the area.
