Time: 17:42     Location: Suffield, Scarborough area

Scarborough crews extinguished an unsupervised bonfire measuring 5 metres by 5 metres. One hose reel jet used to extinguish. No responsible persons in attendance to give advice.

Time: 18:21     Location: Camblesforth

Selby attended a domestic property with an alarm sounding. On arrival and following investigation inside, crew confirmed this to be a false alarm due to cooking fumes.

Time: 18:40     Location: Boroughbridge Road area, York

Acomb crew attended following a report of a fire in the open. The fire was out on arrival of fire crews. Crew confirmed a small fire had occurred in scrubland, affecting an area of approximately 1 square metre. Police informed.

Time: 18:44     Location: Upgang Lane, Whitby

Whitby crew attended the area following a report of petrol leaking from a pump at a petrol station. However, on arrival and following investigation, crew confirmed no leak present and no fault with pump. No action.

Time: 19:05     Location: Marine Drive, Scarborough

Scarborough crew attended the area to investigate following a report of a campfire in what was believed to be in an unsafe area. However, on arrival of fire crews, this was confirmed to be a small barbeque, under supervision and with no risk of fire spread. Advice given, no action.

Time: 19:10     Location: Newby, Scarborough

Scarborough crew attended an area of grassland and extinguished a small fire using a bucket of water. Cause unknown, no persons present.

Time: 19:15     Location: Settle 

Crews attended and extinguished a fire involving a mower vehicle. One hose reel jet used to extinguish. Vehicle completely fire damaged. Advice given.

Time: 19:17     Location: Acomb area, York

Acomb attended following multiple reports of a fire in the open close to woodland. On arrival, crew confirmed this to be an abandoned motorcycle. Crews extinguished using two backpack sprayers. Police informed and attended. Incident left with Police.

Time: 20:14     Location: Grassington Road, Skipton

Skipton crew attended the area following a report of smoke sighted in the open. Crew confirmed this to be a controlled burn, left unattended. Crew extinguished the fire using one hose reel jet to extinguish.

Time: 20:51     Location: Tudor Road, York

Acomb’s appliance responded to reports of smoke sighted in a residential area. This was confirmed to be a controlled burn under supervision, crews gave advice to responsible person and left it with them.

Time: 21:17     Location: Thorpe Green

Robin Hood’s Bay crew responded to assist ambulance with the difficult extrication of a casualty inside a property due to becoming stuck. Crews power was used to free them and the incident was left with ambulance staff.

Time: 21:25      Location: Strikes Lane, Sutton On Craven

Grassington’s appliance was mobilised to reports of an unattended fire in the open. On crews arrival, this was found to be a fire measuring approximately 2m by 2m. One hose reel jet was used to extinguish and advice was given to responsible person.

Time: 21:37     Location: Victoria Street, Settle

Crews from Settle, Bentham and Skipton responded to reports of a residential fire originating in the basement of the property. Crews used eight breathing apparatus, three hose reel jets, three thermal imaging cameras and a positive pressure ventilation fan to extinguish and ventilate the property.

Time: 22:30     Location: Anderson Grove, York

York’s crew were mobilised to assist with a lithium battery that was swelling due to a fault. Crews moved the battery to a safe location to cool down and gave further advice to the homeowner.

Time: 23:18     Location: Woodlea Avenue, York

York and Acomb’s retained crew were mobilised to a potential property fire. On the arrival of crews, this was found to be a controlled burn under supervision. Advice was given to the responsible person in attendance.

Time: 00:20     Location: Bridge Road, Brompton on Swale

Richmond’s pump responded to reports of smoke sighted in the area, this was found to be a false alarm due to steam from a factory chimney.

Time: 02:20      Location: Crossgates, Scarborough

Both Scarborough appliances responded to a boiler fire within a residential property. The fire was out on arrival of crews and had remained contained, a knapsack sprayer was used to cool down the boiler. Advice was given to the homeowner.

Time: 03:27     Location: Brewster Terrace, Ripon

Ripon’s crew were mobilised to an automatic fire alarm sounding in the night. This was found to be a false alarm due to a fault on the system.
