Incident Summary – Monday 28th September – Day Shift

Time:  07.45  Location:  Whitby

A crew from Whitby responded to a report of a 2 vehicle road traffic collision which resulted in one of the vehicles leaking fuel.  Crews used drizzit pads to clean up the fuel and crew power to move the cars to a safe place.

Time:  09.27  Location:  A64 Westbound

Crews from Tadcaster and Wetherby responded to a 2 vehicle road traffic collision where 1 vehicle was smoking.  Crews used 1 hose reel jet and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire and check there were no remaining hot spots.

Time: 12.26   Location: Bagby 

Northallerton crew responded to reports of a fire in a field. On arrival this was found to be a control burn under supervision, crews gave advice to the responsible person present.

Time: 13.56   Location: Brotherton

Selby crew responded to reports of a fire in woodland, on arrival crews found one vehicle well alight. Crews used a knapsack sprayer to dampen and protect the surrounding area. Police attended and the fire was believed to be deliberate.

Time: 15.13   Location: Northallerton

A crew from Northallerton responded to an individual who had become locked in a vehicle and was unable to get out. Crews used small tools to gain access. Advice was given to the responsible person present.

Time: 15.15   Location: York

Acomb crew responded to assist paramedics gain entry to a property due to welfare concerns for the occupant. Crews used small tools and a door enforcer to safely gain entry, the individual was found safe and well. The incident was left with paramedics on scene.

Time: 16.28   Location: Ingleby Arncliffe

Northallerton crew were mobilised to reports of a vehicle smoking. On arrival crews found no sign of smoke or fire and investigated the vehicle. Advice was given to the responsible person present.

Time: 16.40   Location: Whitby

A crew from Whitby responded to a vehicle leaking fuel. Crews used drizzit pads to stop spread. Recovery of the vehicle was being organised by the owner.
