Incident Summary – Tuesday 6th October 2026 – Day Shift

Time: 06.57    Location: Strensall 

York crew responded to fire sighted. On arrival crews found a fire measuring 3 X 2 metres, crews extinguished the fire and dampened down the surrounding area using knapsack sprayers, wildfire tools and water buckets. The incident was left with the responsible person.

Time: 07.08   Location: Burn Bridge 

A crew from Harrogate assisted paramedics gain entry to a property, crews safely gained entry and left the individual in the care of the paramedics.

Time: 11.17    Location: Harrogate 

Crews from Harrogate responded to an individual locked out of a property. Crews used a ladder to safely gain access through a window and assist the individual back in the property. Crews gave advice.

Time: 13.22   Location: Langcliffe 

Grassington crews responded to a vehicle fire. On arrival the vehicle was well alight, crews used a hose reel jet, thermal imaging camera and small tools to extinguish.

Time: 13.23   Location: Osbaldwick, York

York crew responded to reports of smoke sighted. On arrival this was found to be a false alarm due to control burning under supervision. Advice was given to the responsible person.

Time: 14.40   Location: Heslington, York

York and Acomb crew responded to a 2 vehicle road traffic collision. Crews liaised with paramedics and used edraulic cutting equipment to create space and allow the casualty to get out of the vehicle. Crews disconnected the batteries and made the vehicles safe. This incident was left with the police.

Time: 15.01   Location: Catterick Garrison

Richmond and Leyburn crews were mobilised to a 2 vehicle road traffic collision. All the occupants were out the vehicles on fire service arrival. Fire crews made the scene safe.

Crews from Tadcaster, Acomb and Selby responded to an automatic fire alarm sounding. After crews investigated, this was found to be a false alarm. Advice was given to the responsible person present.
