Incident Summary – Night Shift 8th October
Time: 17.40 Location: Wigginton Road, York
A crew from York responded to a report of a vehicle which had collided with railings. All occupants of the vehicle were out on arrival of the crews and being checked over by paramedics. Crews used small tools and spreaders to access and isolate the vehicle battery.
Time: 17.26 Location: Ampleforth
A crew from Kirkbymoorside responded to a report of a road traffic collision. The incident involved 3 vehicles, 2 of which were unoccupied and parked. The other vehicle had come to rest on its side. All occupants were out of the vehicle on arrival of the crews and no fire service action was required. Incident was left with Police and Ambulance.
Time: 18.25 Location: York Road, Thirsk
A crew from Thirsk responded to a report of a fire at the side of the road. Crews located and unaccompanied bonfire measuring approx 1m x 1m. Crews used 1 hose reel jet to extinguish the fire. and dampen down the area.
Time: 19.41 Location: Wistow Road, Selby
Crews from Selby and Tadcaster responded to a report of a 2 vehicle road traffic collision. 2 people were out on arrival of the crews and 1 person was extricated by Ambulance and Fire crews. Crews made the vehicles and scene safe and 2 casualties were taken to hospital for precautionary checks.
Time: 23.10 Location: Knaresborough
A crew from Knaresborough respponded to a request for assistance to gain entry to a property due to concerns for the health of the occupant. Crews gained entry after the occupant opened the door. The incident was left in the hands of Ambulance.
Time: 23.20 Location: High Bentham
A crew from Bentham responded to a request for assistance from Ambulance to gain access to a premises due to a concern for the welfare of the occupant. Crews used a triple extension ladder and a door enforcer to gain access. The occupant was left in the hands of Ambulance crews.
Time: 06.37 Location: Mill Lane, York
A crew from York responded to a report of a fire alarm and a smoke alarm sounding in a property. On arrival this was found to be a carbon monoxide alarm due to a faulty boiler. Crews isolated the boiler and naturally ventilated the property. Advice was given to contact a gas engineer.
Crews from Scarborough, Masham(x2), Bentham and Harrogate (x2) also attended automatic fire alarm activations. After inspection these were found to be false alarms.
