Incident Summary – Day shift, Friday 10th April

Time: 0711      Location: Swainby, Stokesley area

Stokesley attended a residential property following report of alarm sounding. Crew arrived and carried out full inspection. This was believed to be a fault on the alarm system, no fire. Advice given to occupiers.

Time: 0853      Location: A1 Northbound, area of Catterick

A report was received by a passing motorist of smoke issuing from a vehicle in the area. Local crews travelled on both carriageways of the A1. A vehicle was found in the area and crews escorted this vehicle to Scotch corner junction. Heavy fumes were issuing from the exhaust of the vehicle, no fire. Advice given to driver.

Time: 0922      Location: Huntington, York

York crew attended a residential property to investigate following a report of a possible issue with a gas boiler inside the property. However on arrival and following investigation, this was confirmed to be a false alarm. No action, advice given.

Time: 0940      Location: Knox Chase, Harrogate

Harrogate and Knaresborough crews were called to a residential property following a report of a possible fire. Harrogate arrived and confirmed this to be a false alarm due to steam from boiler.

Time: 0943      Location: Belgrave Crescent, Scarborough

Scarborough crew attended and released one person who had become stuck in a defective lift. Lift keys and small tools used to release door of lift, allowing safe exit for person inside. No injuries, advice given on site to responsible persons.

Time: 1159      Location: Pollard Gardens, Scarborough

Scarborough crew attended following report of fire within a residential property. Small fire, out on arrival. No fire spread. Crews carried out ventilation of smoke filled property and gave advice.

Time: 1218      Location: Halton Gill

Crew attended an area in the open to investigate a report of fire. On arrival, crews confirmed this to be a bonfire in the open. Due to no persons present to supervise, crews extinguished the fire using one hose reel jet and small tools.

Time: 1320      Location: Bishop Monkton

Ripon and Harrogate crews attended a small fire within a refuse vehicle. Crews used one hose reel jet to damp down. Ripon crew then followed vehicle back to main refuse yard in Thirsk, where the contents was emptied and crews monitored with a thermal image camera.

Time: 1514      Location: North End, Bedale

Crew attended following report of a fire in the open. Camp fire located by crew and extinguished using buckets of water.

Time: 1518      Location: Woodland Chase, York

York crew extinguished a fire in the open. This was a small fire in parkland left unattended. Bucket of water used to extinguish.

Time: 1542      Location: Scalby Road, Woodlands, Scarborough

Scarborough crew attended a residential property following an automatic alarm activation. On arrival and following investigation, crew confirmed this to be a false alarm due to cooking fumes. Advice given.

Time: 1622      Location: Grimbald Crag Road, Knaresborough

Knaresborough crew attended a road traffic collision to carry out scene safety. Three vehicles involved with no persons trapped, all out of vehicles on arrival of fire and rescue crew. Incident left with Police.

Time: 1652      Location: Tewit Well Road, Harrogate

Harrogate crews attended an area in the open to investigate a report of a fire. On arrival, this was confirmed to be a small, supervised barbeque. Advice given, no action by fire and rescue.
