Incident Summary – Monday Dayshift, 20th April 2026
Time: 09:02 Location: Pier Road, Whitby
Whitby assisted ambulance crews with gaining entry to a property after concerns for the occupant’s welfare. Crews gained entry to the second floor using a 9 metre ladder. Crews located the occupant and left them in the care of ambulance crews after allowing them access.
Time: 09:12 Location: Yafforth Road, Yafforth
Northallerton responded to a two vehicle road traffic collision. All persons were out on arrival with no injuries. Crews provided scene safety until the arrival of police. Incident was left in the hands of police after no further fire service action was required.
Time: 10:12 Location: Front Street, Acomb
Acomb assisted a person they found collapsed on the side of the road when driving through the area. An ambulance was requested through fire control to attend the person and fire crews provided first aid until their arrival. Crews moved the casualty to a nearby property where their carer continued their car until the arrival of paramedics.

A crew from Northallerton attend a vehicle that had leaked hydraulic fluid onto the roadway. The vehicle was recovered by the responsible person and the crews cleaned up the oil spill and made the scene safe.
Time: 11:43 Location: Longwestgate, Scarborough
Both crews from Scarborough attended a single vehicle road traffic collision in which a car had overturned and one occupant was trapped inside. Crews stabilised the vehicle and extricated the person through the boot.

Kirkbymoorside responded to an activated fire alarm inside a building. After investigation, it was confirmed as a false alarm after the breaking of the fire glass point. Advice was given.

Acomb and York mobilised to an extractor hood on fire inside a residential building. The fire was out prior to crews arrival conducted a thermal scan of the property and isolated utilities. The cooker hood sustained significant fire damage and the kitchen had some smoke damage. Home fire safety advice was given to the occupant.

Whitby inspected a property after reports of the smell of burning coming from the flat. After inspection, no signs of fire were located inside flat with no signs of fire damage. This was confirmed as a false alarm good intent.

Colburn, Richmond and Leyburn alongside Leyburns argocat dealt with a fire on some moorland measuring 15 x 15 metres. Crews used wildfire equipment to extinguish the fire. Incident was left with land owner.
Time: 15:34 Location: Broughton Road, Malton
Malton and Sherburn responded to a wagon on fire. Crews wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire using a hose reel jet.
Time: 16:27 Location: Belle Vue Street, Filey
Filey responded to an activated fire alarm inside a property. After inspection this was confirmed as a false alarm.
Time: 16:34 Location: Bondgate, Ripon
Ripon responded to an activated fire alarm inside a property. This was caused by cooking fumes and confirmed a false alarm.

Scarborough assisted ambulance with gaining entry to a property. The patient was left in the hands of paramedics for assessment. Small tools used only.
