Incident Summary – 20th April – Night Shift
17:31 – Cornwall Road, Harrogate
One of Harrogate’s crews were mobilised to reports of a vehicle fire. This was a false alarm due to a blown radiator. Crews gave advice to the owner.
18:19 – Ripon Road, Harrogate
Harrogate’s pump was mobilised to a residential fire involving a smoking washer dryer. Crews used small tools to make the appliance safe before relocating it to outside the property.
20:45 – Water Lane, York
Acomb’s pump was mobilised to dark smoke sighted in the Clifton Moor area. After investigation, this was found to be a controlled burn under supervision.
22:01 – Hauxwell Moor
A crew from Richmond were mobilised to a small fire that had been spotted on the moorland. Crews used one hose reel jet and respirators to extinguish and dampen down the area.
22:56 – Firs Avenue, Ripon
A crew from Ripon were requested by ambulance to assist with the difficult extrication of a patient from their property. Crews used crew power to move the casualty and the incident was left with paramedics.
01:44 – Hagg Bush Lane, Burn
Selby’s crew responded to an incident involving a fire tat had been spotted in the open.Crews used a hose reel jet, one breathing apparatus and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish.
02:02 – Primrose Valley, Filey
Crews from Filey attended a residential property to assist ambulance with the difficult extrication of a patient. Crews used crew power to move the casualty and the incident was left with paramedics.
Crews from York, Knaresborough and Whitby also attended reports of automatic fire alarm activations. These were found to be false alarms.
