Incident Summary – Sunday 5th July 2026 – Night Shift

Time: 17.44     Location: Castlegate, Malton

Crews from Malton responded to reports of an oven fire. On arrival crews used two breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish a fire to a cooker. Once extinguished, crews ventilated the property and gave advice to the responsible person present.

Time: 18.45     Location: Northway, Pickering

Pickering crew were mobilised to an automatic fire alarm sounding at a property with no response from the occupant. On arrival this was found to be false alarm due to cooking. Advice was given to the responsible person present.

Time: 19.52     Location: Scarborough 

A crew from Scarborough responded to reports of a small fire in a park. Crews located the fire and used one hose reel jet to extinguish.

Time: 20.56     Location: The Ropery, Whitby 

Whitby crew responded to reports of smoke sighted. On arrival this was found to be a false alarm due to a controlled burn, advice was given to the responsible person present.

Time: 21.20     Location: Leeds Road, Harrogate 

Harrogate crew responded to an automatic fire alarm activation,  crews investigated and found this to be a false alarm. No further fire service action was required.

Time: 03.40     Location: Leeds Road, Harrogate 

Harrogate crew responded to an automatic fire alarm activation,  crews investigated and found this to be a false alarm. No responsible person was on site for crews to give advice to. No further fire service action was required.

Time: 05.51     Location: St Thomas Street, Scarborough

Scarborough responded to reports of a smell of smoke. After investigation crews found a small fire to a device within a property, fire was out on arrival. Crews inspected only and moved the device to a safe location.
