Incident Summary – 20th July – Day Shift

Time:   08:58         Location:  Sandybed Lane, Scarborough 

Scarborough Crew were mobilised to a fire in the open. On arrival fire was found to be a bonfire that had spread to a nearby fence. Crews used one hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.

Time:  09:09         Location:  Harlow Avenue, Harrogate 

Harrogate Crew were mobilised to an automatic fire alarm sounding in a residential property. On arrival was confirmed to be a false alarm. Advice was given and no further action required.

Time:   10:05       Location:  Coate Moor

Stokesley Crew were mobilised to a fire in the open. On arrival was a fire in peat approximately 4x4m. Crews used one hose reel jet and wildfire tools to extinguish the fire.

Time:  10:19          Location:   Balne Moor Road, Balne

Selby crew with the assistance of Snaith Crew were mobilised to a 3 car road traffic collision. Crews extricated the casualties from the vehicles and left in the responsibility of the ambulance and police on scene.

Time:    11:24        Location:  Swan Hill Road, Scarborough

Scarborough Crew were mobilised to  fire in the open. On arrival was found to be a false alarm due to a controlled burn. Advice was given and left with the responsible person on scene.

Malton, Sherburn and Tadcaster crew were mobilised to a road traffic collision with reports of persons trapped. All casualties were out on arrival of the fire service and no further action was required.

Time:   11:44          Location: Catterick Garrison

Colburn Crew were mobilised to assist Paramedics with extracting a casualty from a property. Crews used lifting equipment and crew power to assist the casualty onto the Ambulance.

Time:  11:51           Location: Woodfield Road, Harrogate 

Harrogate crew were mobilised to assist a casualty who had fallen and was unable to get up. Crew assisted the casualty back into a chair using crew power.

Time: 12:11              Location: Allerton Close, Northallerton

Crew from Northallerton attended a report of a washing machine smoking within a residential property. Crews used small tools to disconnect the machine and relocate outside to ventilate. Advice given to homeowner.

Time: 12:35             Location: York

Crews from Acomb and York were mobilised to a report of an automatic fire alarm, this was confirmed to be a false alarm.

Time: 12:51           Location: Wheatcroft, York

Crew from Tadcaster were mobilised to a hedge row fire measuring 6m x 1m. Crews used 1 hose reel jet to extinguish the fire and dampen down the surrounding area.

Time:   13:08         Location: Filey Road, Scarborough

A crew from Scarborough attended a 1 vehicle road traffic collision, crews assisted with making the scene safe. 1 hose reel jet used to dilute the fuel leak, incident then left with Police.

Crews from Malton and York attended a two vehicle road traffic collision. Crews assisted with scene safety as the vehicles were hybrid, thermal imaging cameras used to check for hotspots. Incident left with Police for vehicle recovery.

Time:   14:42          Location: Scarborough Road, Norton

Malton crew were mobilised to a report of a fire in the open near to a power line. This was 5m x 5m of shrubland on fire caused by the cables from the power line. 1 hose reel jet used and incident handed over to National Power Grid for cable repairs.

Time:  14:46            Location: Kingsway, Scarborough

Scarborough crew were mobilised to assist Ambulance with an extrication from a residential property. Crews used crew power and left the casualty in care of Paramedics.

Time:  14:49            Location: Vyner Street, Ripon

A crew from Ripon were mobilised to a report of smoke coming from a residential property. On arrival crews found a a portable speaker alight on top of a cooker, crews used 1 hose reel jet and 2 breathing apparatus to extinguish the fire.

Time:  15:32             Location: Ouse Bank, Selby

Selby crew were mobilised to a report of fires being set in allotments. On arrival a portacabin was on fire, crews used a hose reel jet and breathing apparatus to extinguish with the cause believed to have been deliberate.

Time:  16:10             Location: Prospect Hill, Whitby

Whitby crew were mobilised to gain entry at a residential premises, crews used a door enforcer and left the incident with Police.

Time:        16:47               Location:  Filey Road, Scarborough 

Scarborough crews attended an automatic fire alarm. On arrival was found to be a false alarm due to a fault on the system.
