Incident Summary – Monday 27th July 2026 – Day Shift

Time: 07.47      Location: Barningham 

Crews from Richmond, Reeth as well as assistance from 02 Durham and Darlington fire appliances and a water bowser responded to an agricultural building fire containing 1000 bales. Crews are using 02 hose reel jets, 02 45 jets to extinguish. Fire crews worked and liaised with the famer to create a fire break and move livestock in nearby buildings to a safe location. This incident is still ongoing.

Time: 09.03     Location: High Bentham 

Crews from Bentham as well as assistance from Hornby crews responded to reports of smoke coming from an electrical sub station. On arrival the electrics had been isolated, crews proceeded with 02 breathing apparatus to investigate. Crews discovered a fire to an electrical capacitor and extinguished using a hose reel jet, a thermal imaging camera was used to ensure there were no further hotspots. Crews removed the capacitor to a safe location.

Harrogate crew assistance paramedics safely extricate a casualty from a property. Crews used crew power to assist and left the casualty in the care of paramedics on scene.

Sherburn crew responded to reports of a grass verge on fire, the fire was out on arrival due to action taken prior to fire service arrival.

Time: 12.06     Location: Baldersby 

A Harrogate crew responded to a vehicle fire. Crews used 02 breathing apparatus, 02 hose reel jets and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish and check for hotspots.

Time: 12.34     Location: Middleton 

Malton crew responded to an automatic fire alarm sounding, after investigation this was found to be a false alarm due to a fault on the system.

Time: 14.09    Location: Norwood 

Harrogate crew responded to reports of a campfire still smouldering in a wooded area, crews located the campfire and used 02 knapsack sprayers and a shovel to extinguish.

Time: 14.19     Location: Hovingham 

Malton crew responded to a fire alarm activation, crews investigated fully and found this to be a false alarm.

Time: 15.25     Location: Skipton 

A crew from Skipton were mobilised after smoke was sighted, on arrival this was found to be a false alarm due to a controlled burn under supervision.

Time: 16.05     Location: Scarborough 

Scarborough crews responded to a road traffic collision. All occupants were out the vehicle on the arrival of fire service. Crews made the vehicles safe and isolated the batteries. Incident was left in the hands of police.

Acomb are responding to individuals stuck on a cherry picker after it had broken down. This incident is ongoing.
