Incident summary – Night shift Thursday Jan 22nd

Time: 17:44  Location: Ryngwoode Drive, Malton

Crews from Malton assisted Ambulance with extrication of a casualty. Incident was left in the hands of Ambulance crews.

Time: 01:13 Location: Bridge Street, Bedale

Masham and Northallerton crews responded to reports of a smell of smoke in a domestic property. On arrival crew investigated and this was confirmed to be a false alarm. Advice was given to the occupant.

Time: 03:00 – Location: Easingwold

A crew from Easingwold were requested to assist with gaining entry to a property on behalf of carers. The crew managed to get a key to work in the door and did not have to resort to forcing entry. The incident was then left with a responsible person.

Time: 06:43 – Location: Cattal

Crews from Harrogate and Acomb are currently en route to assist with a vehicle that has driven into flood water and become stuck with the driver still inside. This incident is on-going at the time of publication.

Update 0900hrs 23/01/2026 – Crews removed one vehicle and a driver from flood water using swift water equipment. The driver sustained no injuries and awaited the arrival of AA to recover the vehicle. Highways were also informed and going to attend this incident to assess the road condition.

Fire alarm activations occurred in Malton, Scarborough and York. All were investigated and confirmed to be false alarms.
