Incident Summary – Friday 23rd January 2026 – Day Shift

Time: 11.13   Location: Scarborough 

A crew responded to a fire sighted, upon arrival this was found to be a controlled burn under supervision, crews gave advice to the responsible person present.

Time: 12.26   Location: Filey Road, Scarborough 

A crew attended a property where the alarm was sounding and the occupant was unsure why, crews gave advice for the occupant to contact an engineer, no further fire service action was required.

Time: 13.27    Location: King Street, York

A crew from York responded to an alarm sounding at a property, no alarm was sounding on crew arrival however crews spoke to one of the residents and gave advice.

Time: 14.02   Location: Skeldergate, York 

Crews from York and Acomb responded to reports of a fire on a roof, crews used a 9 metre ladder and one hose reel jet to extinguish, fire damage was was only external of the property, but crews did do an internal check to ensure the fire did not spread.

Time: 14.21   Location: Stonegate, Hunmanby 

Crews from Filey and Scarborough responded to a single vehicle road traffic collision, on crew arrival the driver was still in the vehicle but with assistance from crews, driver was able to exit the vehicle. Crews used one triple extension ladder and rope rachets to stabilise the vehicle and isolated the low voltage system. Police and ambulance were also in attendance and the driver was taken to hospital via road ambulance as a precautionary measure.
