Incident Summary – Friday 3rd April 2026 – Day Shift

Time: 10:00  Location: Peckfield Close, Hampsthwaite

A crew from Harrogate responded to a chimney fire at a residential property. The fire was confined to the chimney and crews extinguished using a hose reel jet and chimney rods.

Time: 11:31  Location: Bondgate, Ripon

A crew from Ripon responded to a fire alarm activation inside a residential property. On arrival, after investigation this was confirmed to be a false alarm due to cooking fumes.

Time: 14:22  Location: Weeland Road, Knottingley

A crew from Selby alongside an appliance from West Yorkshire fire and rescue service responded to a report of a fire sighted in the open. This was found to be a controlled burn however due to weather conditions the decision was made to extinguish the fire using a hose reel jet.

Time: 15:08  Location: Greenless Lane, Caldwell

Crews from Richmond, Bedale and an appliance from Darlington and Durham fire and rescue service responded to a garage which was well alight. Crews extinguished the fire using breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet and dampened down.

Time: 16:24  Location: St Cuthberts Green, Barton

A crew from Reeth responded to a fire alarm activation in a residential property. On arrival this was confirmed as a false alarm due to cooking fumes.
