Fire in Haxby, York 18 November 2024

We were called at around 07:51 to reports of a fire to a front room of a bungalow which then spread to the loft and then to a neighbouring property’s loft.
Crews extinguished the fire, removed roof tiles and dampened down hotspots.
The fire caused 100% fire damage to the loft, 80% fire damage to the rest of the property and 100% smoke damage. The neighbouring property sustained 85% fire damage to the loft and 10% smoke damage.
One person has been taken to hospital as a precaution.
The cause of the fire is under investigation.
