Incident Summary – Thursday 22nd January 2026 – Day Shift
Time: 10:33 Location: Noels Court, Catterick Village
A crew from Richmond responded to assist ambulance with the extrication of a patient. Crew power and a casualty drag sheet was used and the patient was left in the care of paramedics.
Time: 10:53 Location: Kings Gardens, Sowerby
A crew from Thirsk responded to a residential property to help lift a person who had fallen and was unable to get back up. Crew power was used and the person was left safe and well with family.
Time: 11:05 Location: Market Street, York
Crews from York and Acomb responded to a strong smell of burning in a commercial property. This was found to be from one small fire in an electrical fitting which was out on arrival of the crew. The electrics were isolated and crews used a thermal imaging camera and small tools to ensure there was no further fire spread. Advice was given.

Both crews from Scarborough responded to a commercial site where a gas cylinder was leaking. Crews established a cordon, cooled with a hose reel jet and isolated and made the cylinder safe.
Time: 13:44 Location: St Andrews Gate, Kirkby Malzeard
Two appliances from Ripon attended a report of a fuel spill outside a residential property. After investigation this was found to be a small fuel leak from a vehicle, crews used drizzet pads to soak up the fuel and advice was given to the occupier.
Time: 14:19 Location: Cedar Close, Thorpe Willoughby
Both crews from Selby responded to a tumble drier on fire inside a conservatory in a residential property. Crews used breathing apparatus and a hose reel jet to extinguish and a thermal imaging camera to ensure no further fire spread.
Time: 16:20 Location: Boroughbridge Road, York
Acomb crew used a ring cutter to remove one ring from the finger of a person who self presented at the fire station.
Crews from Malton and Northallerton (x2) attended fire alarm activations. After investigation these were all confirmed to be false alarms.
