Incident Summary – Saturday 31st January 2026 – Day Shift

Time: 08.28      Location: Sutton Road, York

A crew from York responded to a request from police following a single vehicle road traffic collision with potentially smoke coming from the vehicle. All occupants were out of the vehicle on crew arrival and air bag deployment was mistaken for smoke, crews made the vehicle safe by isolating the battery and left the incident with the police.

Time:  11.52    Location: Silpho, Scarborough

Both crews from Scarborough responded to a report of a single vehicle road traffic collision where the vehicle was reportedly smoking.  On arrival of the crews the single occupant of the vehicle was out and injured on the floor and no fire was found to the vehicle.  Crews assisted paramedics to stabilise the casualty and made the vehicle safe using small tools.

Time:  13.43    Location: Maple Drive, Scarborough

A crew from Scarborough responded to a request to assist Ambulance with extrication of a patient from their property and into an Ambulance.

Time: 14.23    Location: Askham Lane, York 

Acomb crew responded to reports of a fire in the open, on arrival this was was found to be a controlled burn under supervision, no fire service action was required.

Time: 14.28      Location: Richmond

A crew from Richmond responded to an alarm sounding at a property, crews carried out a full search of the premises and confirmed it to be a false alarm, building owner was requested to attend.

Time: 15.24     Location: The Stonebow, York

York crew responded to one small bin fire, crews used one hose reel jet to extinguish, no further fire service action was required.
