Incident Summary – Saturday 14th February 2026 – Day Shift

Time: 08:39  Location: Fairfield Way, Tadcaster

A crew from Tadcaster responded to assist a person after their house and car keys had become locked inside their vehicle with the engine running. Crews gained entry to the vehicle through the rear window.

Time: 09:01  Location: Burton Salmon

A crew from Selby responded to a residential property where there was a leak coming from underneath the sink which was flooding the premises and could not be isolated. The external stop tap could not be isolated therefore crews redirected the flow of water to outside the property using small tools until the arrival of the water board who took over the incident.

Time: 11:18  Location: North Road, Ripon

A crew from Ripon responded to a request from the police to gain entry to a residential property for the ambulance service over concerns for the occupier. Crews used a lock snapper to gain entry to the property and the occupant, who was safe and well, was left in the hands of paramedics.

Time: 13:53  Location: Langhorne Drive, Reeth

A crew from Reeth responded to a fire alarm activating in a residential property. The alarm had been reset by the occupier prior to the crews arrival and no fire service action was required.

Time: 15:12  Location: California Road, Whitby

Crews from Whitby and Robin Hoods Bay responded to a derelict building which was on fire. Crews extinguished the fire and dampened down the affected area using one hose reel jet, two breathing apparatus and a thermal imaging camera.

Time: 15:13  Location: Church Fenton

Crews from Selby, Tadcaster, York and Acomb responded to an aircraft in distress with a potential landing gear failure. Crews stood by at the aircrafts landing point where it landed safely with no issues. Crews escorted the aircraft to the hanger and carried out a visual inspection.
