Incident Summary – Tuesday 3rd March – Day Shift

Time: 07:40  Location: Caledonia Street, Scarborough

A crew from Scarborough responded to a residential property where a young person had got their leg stuck in a safety gate. Crews used spreaders to release them safe and well.

Time: 10:46  Location: Kirby Malzeard

A crew from Ripon attended a property where a tumble drier was on fire. The fire was out on arrival of crews who then isolated the tumble drier, moved it outside and carried out an inspection using a thermal imaging camera. Advice was given.

Time: 12:42  Location: Swainsea Drive, Pickering

A crew from Pickering responded to a request from the Ambulance service to assist with the extrication of a casualty. Crew power was used to move the casualty from a property to a road ambulance.

Time: 12:54  Location: Belle Vue Terrace, Whitby

A crew from Whitby responded to a request from the Ambulance service to gain entry to a property over concerns for the occupier. On arrival the occupier opened the door and no fire service action was required.

Time: 13:04  Location: Ox Carr Lane, Strensall

A crew from Huntington responded to a request from the Ambulance service to assist with the extrication of a casualty. A casualty drag sheet and crew power was used to extricate the casualty from a property to a road ambulance.

Time: 15:47  Location: Hull Road, Dunnington

A crew from York responded to a report of a fire in the open. On arrival this was confirmed to be a controlled burn and no fire service action was required.

Time: 16:33  Location: Eastfield

A crew from Scarborough responded to reports of a fire in the open. This was a fire measuring approximately 20m x 10m and crews are currently extinguishing the fire using a hose reel jet.

Time: 16:40  Location: White Horse Close, Malton

A crew from Malton responded to reports of a fire in a garden. Crews extinguished using a hose reel jet and dampened down the area.

 

Crews from Malton (x2) and Harrogate attended fire alarm activations. On arrival, after investigation these were all confirmed as false alarms.
