Incident Summary – Wednesday Nightshift, 4th February 2026

Time:   17:24    Location:  Carlton, Selby

Selby responded to a fire in the open. After inspection, this was confirmed as a controlled burn under supervision.

Time:   17:34   Location:  Otley Road, Harrogate

A crew from Harrogate responded to assist ambulance with gaining entry to a property after welfare concerns for the occupant. On arrival, the occupant came and unlocked the door. The occupant was left with paramedics and no further fire service action was required.

Time:   20:45   Location:  Hornbeam Park Avenue, Harrogate

Both crews from Harrogate responded to a smoke smell coming form the extraction system of a commercial building. Crews isolated and dismantled the extraction fan to find  a burnt out motor fan. A thermal imaging camera identified no further hotspots or fire spread. Advice was given to the responsible person to have an engineer inspect during daylight hours. The extractor fan was left isolated.

Time:  21:18    Location:  Near A64, Tadcaster

Tadcaster mobilised to a fire in the open. After inspection, this was confirmed as a controlled burn under supervision. Crews gave advice to the landowner.

Crews from Ripon, Scarborough, Knaresborough and Malton (x2) also responded to activated fire alarms. After inspection, these were all confirmed as false alarms.
