Incident Summary – Thursday 19th March Night shift

18:52 Pike Road, Pickering.

Kirkbymoorside crew responded to assist resident with water leaking in through ceiling from flat above. Crews isolated electricity and water and advised the need for a plumber and electrician to attend.

21:11 Primrose Valley, Filey

Filey crew responded to an alarm sounding at a caravan on site. Crew investigated and confirmed this was a faulty carbon monoxide alarm. There was no fire or carbon monoxide risk. Crew advised residents of caravan on how to stay safe and to request a new alarm first thing in the morning.

21:20 Dundas Gardens, Whitby

Crew from Whitby were mobilised to investigate a report of a fire sighted believed to be at the rear of a property. After a full search of the area no fire was located.

21:31 Malton Fire Station

A female self presented herself at the fire station with all the signs of a panic attack. Crew administered oxygen until the attack ceased. Female then left the station in the care of her friend.

21:41 Woodfield Drive, Harrogate.

Harrogate crew responded to assist Ambulance to gain entry to a property. Occupant was unwell and could not unlock the door. Crew used a triple extension ladder to access property via a window. Occupant was then left in the care of ambulance crews.

00:16 Primrose Valley, Filey

Crew from Filey and Scarborough responded to reports of an industrial building on fire. This was confirmed to be well alight and measured 30m x 20m containing several cylinders and vehicles. Crews requested a further 4 appliances and a water bowser. Crews are still in attendance at the time of publication.

830am update- a couple of crews remain at the scene monitoring hotspots and damping down. We are likely to remain at the scene for some time.

9am update- most of the hotspots have been extinguished and the incident is being scaled back. One crew remain at the scene.

04:29 Victoria Road, Scarborough

A crew from Scarborough attended an address to gain entry on behalf of paramedics. They used small tools to access the property and a casualty was left in care of ambulance staff.

Automatic Fire alarm activations were investigated by crews from York,  Acomb and Grassington. These were all confirmed to be false alarms.
