Incident Summary – 22nd March- Night Shift
Time: 18.11 Location: Victoria Road, Scarborough
Scarborough crew responded to assist ambulance with extrication of a casualty from a property. Crews safely assisted moving the casualty into the back of the ambulance and left them in the care of the paramedics.
Time: 18.37 Location: Airy Hill, Filey
A crew from Scarborough responded to reports of black smoke sighted behind a property, on arrival crews found this to be a controlled burn under supervision with appropriate precautionary measures being taken. No further fire service action was required.
Time: 19.22 Location: Fossgate, York
Crews from York and Tadcaster responded to a report of smoke coming from an oven in a residential property. On arrival of the crews the smoke was found to be caused by a burnt out heating element within the oven. Crews isolated the electricity to the oven and ventilated the property.
Time: 19.28 Location: St Nicholas Fields, York
A crew from Acomb responded to a report of a fire in a field. On attendance the crew found a small camp fire that had been left unattended and extinguished it using a knapsack sprayer and a bucket of water. Police were informed due to the cause being deliberate.
Time: 20.05 Location: Church View, Dacre Banks
Crews from Summerbridge and Harrogate responded to a report of a fire in a kitchen of a residential property. The fire was out on arrival of the crew. Crews ventilated the property and gave advice.
Time: 22.15 Location: Scalby Road, Scarborough
A crew from Scarborough responded to a fire at a property. On arrival the fire was out, but the property was heavily smoke logged. Crews used two breathing apparatuses and a positive pressure ventilation fan to ventilate the property. Advice was given to the responsible person present.
Time: 04.14 Location: Fox Lane, Thorpe Willoughby
Selby crews responded to assist ambulance gain entry to a property due to an emergency pendant being activated. Crews used 13.5 metre ladder to get the attention of the occupant. The occupant was found safe and well, the pendant had been activated accidentally. No further fire service action required.
Crews from Acomb (x2), Harrogate and Thirsk also attended automatic fire alarm activations. After inspection these were found to be false alarms.
