Incident Summary – Monday 23rd March – Day Shift
07:31 – Hazel Court, York
Crews from York and Acomb were mobilised to an incident involving a waste wagon that had caught fire. Crews followed the vehicle to a safe location to extinguish the fire, one hose reel jet was used.
07:55 – Main Street, Leavening
A crew from Malton were requested by ambulance to assist with gaining entry to a property with a casualty inside. On crews arrival, paramedics had managed to gain access, no action from fire service required. Incident was left with ambulance staff.
09:41 – A658, Follifoot
A crew from Harrogate responded to an incident involving a 2 vehicle road traffic collision that resulted in one of the vehicles smoking. On crews arrival, the fire had been extinguished by ambulance staff. Crews provided scene safety using a thermal imaging camera and drizit pads. The incident was left with police and ambulance.
10:14 – Scurragh House Lane, Middleton Tyas
Richmond’s crew were mobilised to an incident involving a large amount of smoke being spotted in the area. After investigation, this was found to be a false alarm due to a controlled burn under supervision.
10:25 – Boston Spa, Wetherby
West Yorkshire Fire Service requested assistance at an incident in Wetherby involving a single vehicle road traffic collision. On crews arrival, West Yorkshire’s appliance had assisted with scene safety and North Yorkshire was no longer required. The incident was left with West Yorkshire.
11:44 – Hawsker Lane, Whitby
Whitby’s crew were requested by ambulance to assist with the difficult extrication of a casualty from their property. Crews used crew power only to move the casualty into the road ambulance where they were then transported to hospital. The incident was left with paramedics.
Automatic Fire alarm activations were investigated by crews from Richmond, Acomb and Scarborough (x2). These were all confirmed to be false alarms.
