Incident Summary – Tuesday 24th March – Night Shift

Time: 17:32  Location: Church Hill, Thorton Le Dale

Crew from Malton attended a report of a public bin smoking, the small fire at the bottom of the bin had burnt out prior to fire service arrival. Bucket of water used to dampen down, believe the cause to have been a discarded cigarette.

Time: 22:36 Location: Main Street, Thorton Rust

Crews from Hawes and Leyburn attended a vehicle stuck in flood water with persons inside. On arrival the flood water was shallow so crews escorted the driver to safety on foot through the flood water.

Crews from Acomb, York and Malton (x2) also attended reports of automatic fire alarms which resulted in being false alarms.
