Incident Summary – Thursday 26th March 2026 – Day Shift

Time: 10:27  Location: Roxby

A crew from Lythe responded to reports of smoke sighted in the open. On arrival this was confirmed to be controlled burning under supervision.

Time: 10:32  Location: Grantham Drive, York

A crew from Acomb responded to a request from the Ambulance service to gain entry to a residential property over concerns for the occupier. On arrival of crews entry had already been gained and no fire service action was required.

Time: 11:37  Location: Downholme

Crews from Reeth, Leyburn, Northallerton, Colburn, Richmond, Masham, Ripon and Hawes, alongside a water bowser from Tadcaster and welfare unit from Thirsk, attended a fire on the moor. The fire measured approximately 100m x 300m and wildfire teams tackled the fire using beaters, power blowers and an Argocat. The cause is unknown at this time.

Time: 12:58  Location: Shipton by Beningbrough

Crews from York and Acomb responded to a three vehicle road traffic collision. All persons were out on arrival and crews made the vehicles safe. The incident was left in the hands of the police.

Time: 16:00  Location: York Road, Harton

Crews from Malton, York, and Acomb responded to reports of smoke issuing from petrol pumps. This incident is ongoing at the time of publication.

 

Crews from Harrogate, Richmond and Scarborough attended fire alarm activations. On arrival, after investigation these were all confirmed as false alarms.
