Incident Summary – Friday 17th March – Night Shift
18:38 – Eastfield, Scarborough
A crew from Scarborough responded to a report of a fire sighted in the open. Upon arrival it was discovered that there were multiple seats of fire with people in attendance burning garden waste. Crews stood by and maintained a watching brief allowing the fire to burn out safely. No action taken.
18:55 – York City Centre
A crew from Acomb with their Aerial Ladder Platform attended a report of a loose aerial hanging from the side of a building approximately four storeys high. Crews deployed the Aerial Ladder Platform to safely remove the loose aerial.
19:54 – New Earswick, York
A crew from York assisted carers with lifting a casualty who had fallen in a premises and was unable to et back up. They used crew power to lift the person into a seated position and left them in the care of care staff.
22:24 – Clifton, York
A crew from Acomb attended a report of a fire in the rear garden of a residential address. Upon arrival it was found that this was a controlled burn under supervision. No action was taken by the crews although advice was given to the responsible person.
Crews from Acomb, Selby and York responded to automatic fire alarms throughout the evening. After inspection, these were all confirmed to be false alarms with no action taken from the Fire Service.
