Incident Summary – Wednesday 1st April – Day Shift
08:59 – Widgeon Close, Filey
Crews from Scarborough and Filey attended an incident involving a residential fire. Crews used two breathing apparatus, one hose reel jet, one thermal imaging camera and a positive pressure ventilation fan to extinguish the fire and ventilate the property.
10:24 – Kings Road, Harrogate
A crew from Harrogate were mobilised to assist police with gaining entry to a property with a casualty trapped inside. Crews used small tools to gain access and the incident was left with police.
11:02 – Meadow Drive, Scruton
Bedale and Northallerton’s crews were mobilised to an incident involving a car fire outside a residential property. The fire was out on arrival. Crews used one hose reel jet and one thermal imaging camera to dampen down and ensure there was no further risk.
12:33 – Main Street, Escrick
York’s crew were mobilised to an incident involving a casualty that had fallen in their home and was unable to get back up. Crews used a spine board and crew power to move them into a comfortable position and left the incident with a responsible person.
13:06 – Normanby, Whitby
Whitby’s appliance was requested by ambulance to assist with the difficult extrication of a casualty. Crews used small tools to make access to the casualty and crew power to move them into the road ambulance where they were then transported to hospital.
14:14 – Grosvenor Road, Scarborough
A crew from Scarborough were mobilised to an incident involving three persons trapped inside the bedroom of a residential property. Crews used a 9m ladder to reach the first floor and unlocked the door. All persons were freed with no injuries.
15:07 – A6108, Leyburn
Crews from Hawes and Reeth were mobilised to an incident involving a tractor that began leaking hydraulic fluid onto the road. This incident is still ongoing.
