Incident Summary – Thursday 2nd April Night Shift

Time: 16:38  Location: Cleveland Way, Huntington

York crew attended a vehicle fire on the roadside, 1 hose reel jet was used to extinguish the fire. Fire was confined to the engine bay, crews assisted with moving the vehicle off the road and onto the driveway and left in the care of the owner.

Time: 16:43  Location: Fifth Avenue, York

Acomb crew attended a two vehicle road traffic collision, all persons were out on arrival but crews assisted with scene safety as both vehicles were leaking fuel. Drizit pads used and incident left with Police for recovery of the vehicles.

Time: 18:18  Location: Dallamires Lane, Ripon

Ripon crew attended a small fire in the open, this was believed to have been deliberately set by youths, crews used 1 hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.

Time: 18:20  Location: Brat Lane

Harrogate crew attended a report of a fire seen in the open, a fire measuring approximately 20 square metres was located unattended. Crews used knapsack sprayers and shovels to extinguish the fire.

Time: 19:08  Location: The Green, Acomb

A crew from Acomb attended a report of smoke coming from the bottom of a tree. This was confirmed to have been a small fire which had been extinguished by a passer by prior to fire service arrival.

Time: 19:37  Location: Low Lane

A crew from Reeth attended a report of a smoke being sighted, this was confirmed to be controlled burn with responsible person on site.

Time: 20:51   Location: Tate Hill, Whitby

Whitby crew attended a fire on the beach, shovels were used to extinguish the fire, this was believed to have been caused deliberately.

Time: 21:22  Location: Little Smeaton

Crews from Northallerton attended a three vehicle road traffic collision with one person trapped. Hydraulic equipment used to release the casualty from the vehicle and left in the care of Paramedics.

Time: 21:41  Location: Tate Hill, Whitby

Whitby crew reattended the fire on the beach which had been attempted to be relit, crews dismantled the bonfire using spades and sand.

Time: 22:16  Location: Bootham, York

Acomb crew attended a road traffic collision where fuel had leaked onto the road. Crews assisted with scene safety and drizit pads used to clear up the leak. Incident left with Police for recovery of vehicles.

 

Crews from York, Northallerton, Scarborough and Tadcaster attended reports of automatic fire alarms which were confirmed to be false alarms.
