Incident Summary – Day Shift – 7th April
09:54 – Wiggington Road, York
York’s attended an industrial building with an automatic fire alarm sounding. On crews arrival a small fire had already been extinguished. Crews used a thermal imaging camera to check for any further risk and gave advice to the responsible person.
10:05 – Barefoot Street, Ripon
Ripon’s second appliance responded to reports of a small bonfire in the open. This was a false alarm due to controlled burn under supervision.
10:45 – Doncaster Road, Selby
Selby’s crew responded to an automatic fire alarm at a residential property. This was found to be a false alarm due to the testing of the system.
10:49 – Scarborough Road, Rillington
Crews from Malton and Sherburn were mobilised to a residential fire at a property. Crews used small tools, a thermal imaging camera, two breathing apparatus’ and one hose reel jet to extinguish. The fire caused 100% fire damage to the top floor of the property
11:04 – King Street, York
York’s appliance was mobilised to an automatic fire alarm sounding at a residential property. This was found to be a false alarm.
12:06 – Millfield Lane, Nether Poppleton
Acomb’s crew were mobilised to reports of a vehicle smoking from the engine compartment. After an inspection this was found to be a false alarm, advice was given to the responsible person.
13:53 – Regent Mews, York
A crew from York were mobilised to a small bin fire, this was out on the arrival of crews.
16:10 – Whitcliffe Lane, Ripon
Ripon’s second appliance attended an incident involving a small bonfire that had been left unattended. Crews used two knapsack sprayers and a bucket of water to extinguish the fire.
16:14 – Monks Cross Drive, Huntington
York’s crew were mobilised to an incident involving a vehicle leaking fuel over the forecourt of a petrol station. Crews gave advice and left the incident with a responsible person.
16:45 – Unity Grove, Harrogate
Harrogate’s crew attended an incident involving a tumble dryer catching fire in a residential property. The fire was out on arrival of crews, they moved the appliance to a safe space and gave advice to the occupier.
