Incident Summary – Monday Nightshift, 6th April 2026

Time: 16:46  Location: Jockey Lane, York

Crews from Huntington, Tadcaster, Acomb, Selby, Knaresbrough and Malton alongside a water bowser from Tadcaster, Ariel ladder platform from Harrogate, welfare unit from Thirsk and a incident command unit from Northallerton attended a fire at a commercial property. Crews used multiple breathing apparatus, hose reel jets, main jets and positive pressure ventilation fans to deal with the incident. There are no report of any injuries.

7th April 2026 update- A revisit will take place this morning. Fire investigation officers will also visit to begin the investigation into the cause of the fire.

Time: 17:21   Location: Catterick Road, Colburn

Richmond responded to an activated fire alarm inside a residential building. After inspection, this was caused by smoking inside a flat.

Time: 18:20  Location: Grimbald Crag Road, Knaresborough

A crew from Masham responded to two people who had accidentally become locked inside a carpark with their vehicle. Bolt cutters were used to release the people.

Time: 18:23  Location: High Moor Road, North Rigton

A crew from Ripon responded to a fire sighted in the open. This was a fire measuring 2m x 2m containing branches. Crews extinguished and dampened down using 1 hose reel jet and wildfire tools.

Time: 19:32   Location: Shipton Road, Rawcliffe

York mobilised to a small campfire in woodland consisting of leaves and twigs. Crews extinguished the fire with knapsack sprayers and buckets of water. The cause of the fire is believed to have been deliberate.

Time: 20:25   Location: Dikes Lane, Great Ayton

A crew from Stokesley responded to a fire sighted in the open. This was a small campfire which had been extinguished before crews arrival and no fire service action was required.

Time: 21:06   Location:  Swinerton Avenue, York

A crew from Acomb responded to a bin which was on fire. Crews extinguished using a backpack sprayer and a bucket of water. Cause believed deliberate.

Time: 22:30   Location: Bower Street, Harrogate

A crew from Harrogate responded to assist police at a two vehicle road traffic collision. Crews made the scene safe and isolated one of the vehicles. The incident was left in the hands of the police.

Time: 22:31   Location: Long Lane, Felliscliffe

Crews from Harrogate and Knaresborough responded to a fire sighted with initial reports concerned that it could be a property on fire. On arrival this was found to be a controlled burn which was at a safe distance from any buildings and no fire service action was required.

Time: 01:59  Location: Newby, Scarborough

Scarborough mobilised to assist a person who had fallen inside their property. Crews moved the person back to safe position with crew power. No injuries reported.

Time: 03:11   Location: Regent Street, Scarborough

Scarborough mobilised to assist ambulance crews with gaining entry to a property after concerns for the occupant inside. However, shortly after attending the fire crews were stood down by ambulance after the occupant was confirmed not inside the property.
