Incident Summary – 7th March Night Shift

Time: 17.49  Location: Lime Street, Harrogate

A crew from Harrogate responded to a report of a fire to the hob of an oven which had been extinguished and isolated by the occupier prior to Fire Service arrival.  Crews inspected the oven and confirmed the fire was extinguished.

Time: 18.00  Location: Seamer Road, Scarborough

Two crews from Scarborough responded to a two vehicle road traffic collision. Crews provided casualty care and stabilised the vehicles.  The occupant of 1 vehicle was left in the care of Paramedics.

Time: 18.42  Location:  Henrietta Street, Whitby

A crew from Whitby responded to a report of a fire to a bin on the beach.  On arrival of the crews a campfire was found that had been left unattended and crews extinguished using a spade and a shovel.

Time: 19.12  Location:  Esplanade, Scarborough

A crew from Scarborough responded to a report of smoke issuing from a garden.  On arrival this was found to be a controlled burn with responsible person present.

Time: 19.31  Location: Castlegate, Knaresborough

A person reported to the Police Station with a swollen battery pack of a power bank.  Crews placed the power bank onto a bucket of water and gave advice.

Time: 19.38  Location: Norby Estate, Norby

A crew from Thirsk responded to a report of a fire in a garden.  On arrival crews found this to be a controlled burn with the occupier in attendance.

Time: 20.12  Location:  Rigton Hill, North Rigton

A crew from Harrogate responded to a report of a fire near the side of a road.  Crews located an unattended bonfire and extinguished using 1 hose reel jet.

Time: 20.23  Location:  Windsor Garth, York

A crew from Acomb responded to a request from Ambulance for assisting to gain entry to a property due to concerns for the occupant.  Crews made contact with the occupant through a first floor window using a 9m ladder.  Occupant was safe and well.

Time: 21:30  Location: Kirklington

Crews from Bedale and Northallerton responded to reports of a 2 vehicle road traffic accident. On arrival of crews all persons were out of their vehicles and in hands of police. Crew carried out scene safety before leaving incident with police.

Time: 06.19  Location:  Woodbine Close, Great Ayton

Crews from Coulby Newham, Stokesley and Northallerton responded to a report of a fire in a residential property.  This incident is on-going at time of publication.

update- This incident involved a fire in a ground floor flat. Crews extinguished the fire and ventilated the property. The fire caused 100% fire damage to the flat and smoke damage to the flat above as well as damage to guttering and windows.

Time: 06.20  Location:  Friarage Gardens, Northallerton. 

A crew from Northallerton responded to a request to assist Ambulance to gain entry to a premises. Crews used small tools to gain access to the premises and left the incident with Paramedics.

Crews from York (x4), Whitby, Scarborough and Filey also attended automatic fire alarm activations. After inspection these were found to be false alarms.
