Incident Summary – Day Shift – Tuesday 21st April 2026

Time: 08.14    Location: Harrogate Road

Crews from Knaresborough and Ripon responded to reports of a single vehicle road traffic collision. On arrival this was found to be a historic road traffic collision, crews wrapped the vehicle with fire tape to ensure it was visible from the road and left the incident.

Time: 08.37    Location: Kirkham Close, Whitby 

Whitby crew responded to an automatic fire alarm sounding with no response from the occupant, on arrival this was found to be a false alarm with the cause being due to cooking fumes.

Time: 11.26    Location: A59 Broughton

Skipton crew responded to reports of a two vehicle road traffic collision. On fire crew arrival nobody was trapped, crews assisted with initial first aid and making the vehicles safe by isolating the batteries. Crews left the incident with police and ambulance on scene.

Time: 12.12     Location: Ashfield Road, Castleton 

A crew from Whitby responded to assist paramedics extricate a casualty from a property. Crews safely moved the casualty into the ambulance and left them in care of the paramedics.

Time: 12.47    Location: Stockton On The Forest 

York and Huntington crews responded to a two vehicle road traffic collision, all passengers were out on arrival. Crews assisted with initial first aid and waited for the ambulance to arrive, crews left the incident with the police.

Time: 16.31    Location: Town End Close, Cross Hills

A crew from Skipton responded to reports of people stuck in a lift carriage, crews used lift keys to release people trapped. Advice was given to the responsible person to have a lift engineer attend.

Time: 15.45    Location: Wetherby Services

Crews from Knaresborough, alongside our colleagues from Wetherby and Garforth (West Yorkshire Fire Rescue Service) responded to a heavy goods vehicle fire. Crews used two breathing apparatus and two hose reel jets to extinguish.
