Incident Summary – Night shift Thursday 18th June

 16:46  Langburn Lane, Castleton, Whitby

Crew from Lythe and Whitby responded to investigate reports of domestic kitchen smoke logged. Once on scene crews confirmed the smoke was caused by burnt cooking. Crews ventilated the property and engaged with the residents.

19:47 Barlby Road, Barlby

Crew from Selby attended a single vehcle road traffic accident where a car had collided with a lampost. The occupant was out of the vehicle on arrival and crew carried out scene safety only.

20:57 Nethergyll Lane, Cononley

Crew from Skipton attended reports of a small fire left unattended. Crews located the fire consisting of wood and extinguished using 2 knapsack sprayers.

22:04 Bishopthorpe Road, York

Crew from York responded to reports of a laptop that was overheating and hissing. Crew removed the laptop to a safe external location and gave advice. No further action required by fire crews.

01:44 First Avenue, York

A crew from York responded to a request to assist Ambulance gain entry to a property due to concerns for the welfare of the occupant. On arrival of the crews the occupant stated no support was required.

03.07  Chubb Hill Road, Whitby

A crew from Whitby responded to a request to assist ambulance to extricate a patient from a ground floor room into a waiting road Ambulance.

06.01  Dragon Avenue, Harrogate

A crew from Harrogate responded to a report of a fire sprinkler system that had activated and was flooding a property.  Crews removed the fuses to isolate the sprinkler and gave advice to the occupant.

Fire alarm activations were investigated by crews from York, Acomb, Harrogate, Knaresborough, Grassington and Scarborough. These were all confirmed to be false alarms for various reasons.
