Incident Summary – Saturday 4th July 2026 – Night Shift
Time: 17.24 Location: Marton, Sinnington
A crew from Kirkbymoorside responded to a report of a fire to a skip. The fire damaged the skip contents only. Crews extinguished using 2 braathing apparatus, 1 hose reel jet and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire.
Time: 19.56 Location: Leeds Road, Harrogate
A crew from Harrogate responded to an automatic fire alarm activation. After inspection this was found to be a false alarm.
Time: 21.17 Location: West Street, Scarborough
Two crews from Scarborough responded to a report of a fire to a garage. On arrival of the crews a tumble dryer was well alight within the garage. Crews used 1 hose reel jet and a tic to extinguish the fire which also caused smoke and heat damage to other items in the garage.
Time: 22.05 Location: Ralphs Cross, Danby Dale
A crew from Danby responded to a report of a bonfire on moorland. On arrival the crew found a fire approximately 1m x 1m in size and extinguished it using buckets of water.
Time: 22.07 Location: York Road, Thirsk
A crew from Thirsk responded to a report of a fire on grassland. On arrival the crews found a fire of garden waste measuring approximately 2m x 2m. Crews extinguished the fire using 1 hose reel jet.
Time: 22.29 Location: Common Lane, Burn
A crew from Selby responded to a report of a fire sighted from a neighbouring village. This was found to be a controlled burn under supervision and no Fire Service action was required.
