Crews worked through the night to extinguish the fire and checked for hotspots. The incident has now been scaled down to one fire engine remaining on scene this morning. No cause for the fire has been established at this time.

Update at 17:42  We have started to scale back our attendance at the incident to two appliances and our Aerial Ladder Platform.

Update at 15:18 Firefighters are still in attendance at this incident. They are using an Aerial Ladder Platform (ALP), a number of main jets, and a Hose Reel Jet (HRJ) on the fire. Please continue to avoid the area.

We’re currently responding to an incident involving a building on the Malton and Norton District Hospital site.
 
A number of fire crews are on the scene.
Hospital staff have confirmed all people are accounted for.
 
Residents and anyone nearby may notice large amounts of smoke. As a precaution, please keep all doors and windows closed.
