Incident Summary – 14th July – Night Shift

Time:    17:08          Location:   St Nicholas St, Norton 

Malton Crew were mobilised to a small fire in the open. On Arrival was found to be a false alarm.

Time:    17:16          Location:   Eastfield, Scarborough

Scarborough Crew were mobilised to a small fire inside some concrete piping measuring 5mx5m. Fire was out on arrival. Believed to be deliberate.

Time:       17:58      Location:   Kingsway North, York

Acomb Crew attended a fire in the open. Measuring 5mx5m. Crews used 1 hose reel jet to extinguish and no further action required.

Time:      18:15        Location:   Crescent Avenue, Whitby 

Whitby crew was mobilised to a automatic fire alarm at a residential building. On arrival was found to be a false alarm. Crews used thermal imaging camera to check area. No further action required.

Time:    18:21          Location:   Claro Way, Harrogate

Harrogate crew were mobilised to a fire in the open. On arrival was found to be approximately 6m of scrubland alight. Crews used knapsack sprayers and buckets to extinguish. Believed to be deliberate.

Time:    18:26         Location:   Kirby Misperton

Pickering crew were mobilised to an automatic fire alarm sounding in a residential property. On arrival was found to be a false alarm due to a faulty alarm.

Time:     18:34         Location:   James Backhouse Place, York

Acomb crew was mobilised to a person trapped in a baby swing. Crews used a step ladder and crew power to release the person. No further action was needed.

Time:    19:43         Location:   The Backies, York

Acomb crew was mobilised to a fire in the open. On arrival crew used 1 knapsack sprayer to extinguish the fire and no further action required. Believed to be deliberate.

Time:       20:39    Location:   Dishforth 

Boroughbridge crew were mobilised to a fire/smoke sighted in the open. On arrival one small fire in disused building. Crew used one knapsack sprayer to extinguish the fire. Advice was given and no further action required.

Time:    20:54          Location:   Crosby 

Northallerton crew attended a manure heap on fire. Crews used farmers jcb bucket to extinguish the fire. Advice was given and left in the responsibility of the farmer on scene.

Time:         21:03     Location:   Torridon Place, York

Acomb crew attended a fire in the open. Crew could see smoke and fire in the tree line and used beaters to access the fire once crews had access they used knapsack sprayers and bucket to extinguish the fire.

Time:       21:10       Location:   Eastfield Avenue, York 

Huntington crew were mobilised to a small fire in the open. On arrival crews found one campfire left unattended measuring 1mx1m. Knapsack sprayer used to extinguish the fire and no further action required.

Time:     22:20         Location:   Forest Road, Scorton 

Richmond and Northallerton crews were mobilised to a grain dryer on fire. On arrival there was no sign of smoke or fire. Thermal imaging camera used to investigate.

Time:       06:16       Location:   Sherburn in Elmet

Crew from Tadcaster and Garforth responded to reports of a fire to an HGV. On arrival this was found to be a fire to a rear brake. This incident is ongoing at this time.
