Incident Summary – Night Shift – Friday 14th August

Time: 18.02    location: Langthwaite

Reeth crew responded to reports of a small fire on the side of the road. On arrival this was found to be a BBQ and was extinguished fully by crews.

Time: 18.22    location: Scarborough

Scarborough crew responded to an individual stuck in a lift. Crews used lift keys to safely release them. Advice was given to the responsible person present.

Time: 18.51    location: Ripon

Ripon crew responded to a smoke sighted in an open area. On arrival crews found a campfire measuring 0.5 m x 0.5 m. Crews extinguished using a bucket of water.

Time: 19.07    location: Reeth 

Reeth crew responded to reports of a fire near a property. On arrival crews found a small garden fire that had spread to a nearby tree, crews used buckets of water and 02 knapsack sprayers to extinguish the fire.

Time: 19:08    location: Northallerton

Crews from Northallerton responded to reports of smoke sighted. This was a false alarm caused by a BBQ under supervision.

Time: 20:07     location: York

Crew from Acomb responded to reports of smoke sighted. This was found to be a controlled burn in a brazier. Crew extinguished the fire using 1 hose reel jet due to embers coming from it.

Time: 20:14  Location: Monk Fryston

Crew from Selby responded to reports of smoke coming from a controlled burn in the area. Crews attended and found this to be a false alarm.

Time: 20:24 Location: Cross Hills

Crew from Skipton were mobilised to reports of a fire to a balcony of a residential premises. On arrival this was found to be a false alrm caused by a person having a BBQ.

Time: 20:39 Location: York

Crew from York responded to reports of a fire in a field. On arrival this was found to be a pile of leaves and organic matter out on arrival. Crew used 1 hose reel jet to dampen down. Cause is believed to be self combustion.

Time: 20:48 Location:Pickering

Crew from Pickering attended reports of 2 tree branches that had fallen from a tree and come to rest on telephone wires. Crews used GP lines to remove the branches.

Time: 21:02  Location: Scabb Wath Bridge

Crew from Reeth responded to reports of a fire sighted. This was found to be a small camp fire under supervision. Advice given.

Time: 21:04 Location: Eastfield

Crew from Scarborough were mobilised to reports of a fire in the rear garden of a property. This was found to be a controlled burn in a brazier with responsible person in attendance. Advice given.

Crew from Skipton were mobilised to reports of a fire on some grassland. Crew located a small campfire measuring 1 x 1 metre in size. crew used knapsack sprayers to extinguish.

Time: 21:12 Location: York

Crew from York were mobilised to reports of a fire in a garden of a property. This was a small fire in a brazier under supervision with extinguishing media present. Advice given.

Time: 21:14 Location: Aysgarth

Crew from Hawes were mobilised to reports of smoke sighted in the area. Crew located a small bonfire with owner in attendance. Fire extinguished using buckets of water.

Time: 21:55  Location: Faceby

Crew from Danby were mobilised to a fire sighted in a field. On arrival crews found a small campfire, crews extinguished using 2 knapsack sprayers and a bucket of water. Advice was given to the person present.

Time: 23.25  Location: Austwick

Crews from Hawes alongside assistance from Hornby crews responded to a fire in the open. On arrival crews found contents of a skip on fire, this was extinguished using 2 hose reel jets.

Time: 04.39  Location: York

York crew responded to an automatic fire alarm activation. After investigation crews confirmed this to b a false alarm. Advice was given to the occupant.
