Incident Summary – 23rd Night Shift

Time:      18:12      Location:  Main Street, Sutton In Craven

Skipton crew were mobilised to an automatic fire alarm sounding, on arrival of crews was found to be a false alarm due to a faulty detector. Advice was given. No further action required from fire service.

Time:     18:14       Location:  Newland Park Crescent, Scarborough

Scarborough crew were mobilised to reports of a fire in a residential property garden. On arrival of fire crews was found to be a controlled burn. Responsible person on scene extinguished the fire and no further action required.

Time:     19:42       Location:  Coble Landing, Filey

Scarborough crew were mobilised to reports of a BBQ on the beach near to chalets. On arrival fire crew liaised with both family with BBQ (not a disposable one), and caller. BBQ had a sufficient distance from chalet and family had means to extinguish afterwards. No further action by Fire.

Time:     20:05       Location:  Swainby area

Stokesley crew were mobilised to a report of smoke sighted in area. Fire crew searched area and spoke with persons in area – no smoke seen by themselves. No answer from original caller when crew tried to contact them. False alarm.

Time:     20:56       Location:  Pine woods by Harlow Moor Road, Harrogate

Harrogate crew were mobilised to a report of a small fire in woods. Fire crew extinguished one small campfire using buckets of water, and gave advice.

Time:     21:38       Location:  Belmont Avenue, Calcutt

Knaresborough and Harrogate appliances mobilised to a report of a smell of burning in a residential property bedroom. Fire crews discerned no smell of smoke and checked premises with a thermal camera. A possible appliance that could be responsible – an extractor fan – had its power isolated, and occupant advised to have this checked by an electrician.

At Police request, Tadcaster crew washed down a road surface following an earlier incident.

Time:     23:44       Location:  Falsgrave Road, Scarborough

Two persons claiming to be disabled and locked out of their flat, asked for Fire assistance to gain entry. Door enforcer used.
