Incident Summary – Night Shift – 11th September

17:51 – Little Studley

Ripon’s crew responded to a bonfire that was at risk of becoming out of control. Crews extinguished the fire using a knapsack sprayer and wildfire tools. Advice was given to a responsible person.

18:27 – Victoria Road, Richmond

Crews from Richmond, Leyburn, Reeth and Darlington responded to a residential fire in a third floor flat. Crews extinguished the fire using six breathing apparatus’, one extended hose reel jet, three thermal imaging cameras and two MSA filter masks. A positive pressure ventilation fan was used to ventilate the property and an IEC kit was used on a casualty whilst awaiting the arrival of ambulance.

18:42 – Old Great North Road, Brotherton

Crews from Tadcaster and Garforth responded to reports of a fire that had been left unattended. Crews extinguished using one hose reel jet.

19:55 – Middleton Lane, Middleton

Pickering’s appliance responded to an unattended bonfire measuring approximately 1m by 1m. Crews extinguished and dampened down the area using one hose reel jet.

20:36 – Station Road, York

York’s crew were mobilised to assist with two people trapped in a lift. Crews used small tools and lift keys to release them unharmed.

21:05 – Limehouse Lane, Carleton

Skipton’s crew responded to reports of a fire that appeared to be unattended. On the arrival of crews, this was found to be a controlled burn under supervision. Advice was given to the responsible person.

22:04 – Bay Bolton Avenue, Wensley

Leyburn’s crew were requested to assist ambulance with gaining entry to a property with a casualty inside. Crews gained access through an open window and unlocked the front door allowing ambulance inside, incident was left with them.

22:26 – James Street, York

York’s appliance responded to an automatic fire alarm sounding at a residential premises, this was found to be a false alarm due to cooking fumes.
