Incident Summary – Night Shift, Saturday 19th September

Time: 17:29     Location: Forest Lane, Harrogate

Harrogate crew attended a two vehicle road traffic collision. No persons trapped, occupants from both vehicles out on arrival of fire service crews. One male in care of paramedics, taken to hospital for checks. Crew carried out general scene safety and assisted in moving one of vehicles off main carriageway. Incident left with Police.

Time: 17:56     Location: Cherry Tree Avenue, Scaborough

Scarborough crew attended an automatic fire alarm activation at a domestic property. On arrival and following investigation, crew confirmed this to be a false alarm.

Time: 18:19     Location: Great Ayton area

Northallerton crew attended the area and worked to extinguish a fire in the open. Crews used wildfire extinguishing equipment. The incident will be left open for a revisit and inspection by duty crews in the morning.

Time: 18:42     Location: Robert Street, Harrogate

Harrogate crew attended a domestic property following a report of an alarm sounding. Crews carried out a full external inspection of the building, with no signs of smoke or fire. Cause determined to be a false alarm.

Time: 19:11     Location: Old Malton Road, Saxton

A crew from Scarborough responded to reports of a fire in the open, on crews arrival this was found to be a controlled burn under supervision, crews gave advice to a responsible person.

Time:  19:21    Location: Blue Bridge Lane, York

York’s appliance were mobilised to an automatic fire alarm sounding in a residential property, this was found to be a false alarm due to cooking fumes.

Time: 22:30     Location: Moor Lane, East Ayton

Scarborough’s crew attended a residential property with an automatic fire alarm sounding, this was found to be a false alarm due to a fault on the system.

Time: 22:30     Location: Exelby Village, Exelby

A crew from Bedale alongside Ripon’s animal rescue team were mobilised to a horse that had become trapped following a fall within a trailer. The horse was sedated by a vet on scene and crews worked to release using animal rescue equipment. The horse was secured and safely lifted out of the trailer and was left in care of owner.

Time: 23:05     Location: Huntington, York

Huntington’s appliance were mobilised to assist with gaining entry to a property with a casualty inside, crews used a game kit to gain access. An IEC kit was used to treat the casualty whilst awaiting ambulance, the casualty was left with carers.

Time:  23:32    Location: Appleton Road, Bishopthorpe

Acomb’s appliance responded to reports of a fire in the open, after investigating, this was found to be a controlled burn under supervision. Advice was given to the responsible person.

Time: 23:57     Location: Southfield Crescent, York

Acomb crew attended and extinguished a fire involving a van. Crews used to hose reel jets to extinguish the fire within the cab and engine. Police were made aware of incident. Crews used a thermal image camera to ensure no further fire spread.

Time: 01:52     Location: Bridge Street, Pickering

Crew attended to assist Police at an incident where they required fire and rescue equipment to access an area. Small tools used to assist. Incident left with Police.

Time: 03:18     Location: Long Street, Topcliffe

Thirsk crew attended an automatic fire alarm activation. On arrival and following investigation, crew confirmed this to be a false alarm due to a fault on the system. Advice given to responsible person in attendance.

Time: 05:16     Location: Harlow Oval, Harrogate

Crews from Harrogate were requested by ambulance to assist with gaining entry to a property with a casualty inside. Crews used small tools, spreaders and a game kit to gain access to the casualty, the incident was left with paramedics.

Time: 06:27     Location: Charles Street, Selby

Selby’s crew were mobilised to an automatic fire alarm sounding at a residential property, after a full inspection, this was found to be a false alarm.
