Incident Summary – Friday 1st May – Night Shift
Time: 17.20 Location: A171
Scarborough, Whitby and Lythe crews responded to reports of a fire on the side of the road. On fire crew arrival roadside verge and bushes were well alight, area measuring approximately 30 x 20 metres. Crews used 3 hose reel jets and wildfire tools to extinguish the fire.
Time: 18.26 Location: Market Place, Malton
Malton crews responded to a vehicle leaking fuel. Fire crews used environmental packs to soak up the fuel, occupier was not in attendance.
Time: 19.27 Location: Monk Fryston
A crew from Selby responded to reports of youths setting a fire in a woodland area. After investigation crews found a tree stump had been on fire but was extinguished prior to fire service arrival. Crews ensured it was extinguished.

Scarborough crews responded to reports of cooking equipment smouldering at a property, crews used a thermal imaging camera but found no signs of fire. Advice was given to the responsible person present.

York crews responded to a bin fire, one hose reel jet was used to extinguish.

A crew from York responded to reports of a fire outside a property, on fire crew arrival a small fire was found measuring approximately 2 x 2 metres, crews used one hose reel jet to extinguish. Advice was given to the responsible person present.

Acomb crews assisted ambulance gain entry to a property due to welfare concerns for the occupant. Crews gained access to a key safe and used a key to gain entry to the property, the casualty was left in the care of the paramedics.

Harrogate crew responded to reports of a garden fence on fire. Crew used one hose reel jet to extinguish an area of approx. 2 metres of garden fence.

Crew from Easingwold responded to reports of a fire sighted in the village of Huby. After investigation this was found to be a false alarm caused by controlled burning.

Crew from Scarborough assisted paramedics gaining entry to a premises due to concerns for the occupant. Crews gained entry using a game kit, occupant was found to have suffered a fall but sustained no injuries, paramedics checked the individual. crew assisted them move into a comfortable position and secured the property.

Skipton crews responded to reports of a single vehicle road traffic collision, on fire crew arrival all occupants were out the vehicle and being checked by paramedics on scene. Crews made the vehicles safe using small tools and crew power
Time: 02.12 Location: Knaresborough
Knaresborough crew assisted paramedics gain entry to a property due to concerns for the occupant, crews began using a door breaker until the occupant opened the door and allowed access for emergency services. Occupant was found safe and well, no further fire service action required.

Harrogate crew responded to assist ambulance extricate a casualty, crews assisted paramedics safely move the casualty. Crews then left the casualty in the care of the paramedics.
Crews from York (x2) and Hawes responded to automatic fire alarm activations, these were found to be false alarms. Advice was given to the responsible person present.
