Incident Summary – Thursday 30th April – Night Shift
Time: 17:50 Location: Water Lane, York
A crew from Acomb responded to a fire sighted in the open. This was a small fire consisting of pallet wood. Crews used 2 backpack sprayers to extinguish the fire. The cause was deliberate and the police were informed.
Time: 18:42 Location: Braygate Street, Broughton
A crew from Malton responded to reports of smoke coming from a manure heap. This was found to be a manure and sawdust pile measuring approximately 50m x 10m which was smouldering. Crews suppressed the fire using a hose reel jet and will re-visit the incident in the morning.
Time: 19:17 Location: Rawburndale
Crews from Bentham and Hawes assisted Lancashire Fire and Rescue with an agricultural building fire. Crews assisted with relaying water before being released from the incident.
Time: 20:29 Location: Marine Drive, Scarborough
A crew from Scarborough responded to a report of a motorbike on fire. The fire was out on arrival of the crew. They made the scene safe and the incident was left with a recovery company.
Time: 22:17 Location: Park Lane, Knaresborough
A crew from Harrogate responded to a request from police to assist with scene safety, where a vehicle had impacted a building. All occupants were out on arrival. No action was taken by the fire service, and the incident was left with the police.
Time:23:40 Location: Reighton, Filey
Crews from Filey and Scarborough responded to reports of a 2 vehicle road traffic collision. All persons were out of the vehicles on arrival or crews. Crews made the scene safe by isolating the vehicles.
Crews from Grassington, Scarborough and Selby attended fire alarm activations. On arrival, after investigation these were all confirmed as false alarms.
