Time: 08:04  Location: Kingfisher Driver, Kirkbymoorside

Kirkbymoorside assisted ambulance with the extrication of a patient from inside their property to the awaiting road ambulance outside for transport to hospital.

Time: 09:25  Location: B1222, Sherburn-in-Elmet

Tadcaster alongside there Incident Support Unit responded to a diesel spill believed to had come from a heavy goods vehicle which had spread onto streets in and around the Sherburn in Elmet area. Fire crews inspected the affected area and reported all affected roads to the police and highways who will attend and clear the spillage.

Time: 13:42 Location: Broughton Road, Skipton

Skipton and Grassington responded to reports of a heavy good vehicle that had struck a bridge. There was no vehicle on crews arrival so a visual inspection of the bridge was conducted using a 13.5 ladder. All information was passed to police and highways.

Time: 15:01  Location: Gale Lane, Acomb

Acomb assisted with a cyclist who had ridden into the back of a stationery car. Crews provided first aid using an immediate emergency care kit from the appliance until ambulance crews arrived. The cyclist was left in the hands of paramedics.

Time: 15:17 Location: Near Sherburn in Elmet

Selby responded to a request from ambulance crews to assist with an occupant who had fallen inside their property. Crew power was used to move the patient to the awaiting road ambulance outside.

Time: 15:39  Location: Flowergate, Whitby

Whitby and Scarborough’s Ariel Ladder Platform appliance assisted with the safe removal of a seagull that became stuck in some netting on the top floor of commercial property. The seagull was left in the hands of the responsible person who will resume the care of the animal.

Time: 15:41 Location: Skipton Road, Harrogate

Both Harrogate crews responded to a fire in the first floor of a two storey property. All persons were out prior to their arrival. Crews wearing breathing apparatus extinguished the fire with a hose reel jet. Crews naturally ventilated the property and a fire investigation will take place to determine the cause.

York responded to a van well alight. Crews extinguished the fire using a hose reel jet.

Time: 16:11 Location: Warthill

Acomb responded to a single vehicle road traffic collision. Four occupants were out on arrival of fire crews. One person was in the hands of ambulance crews having a medical assessment. Crews assisted police with scene safety and the incident was left with both ambulance and police.

Time: 16:37  Location: Summerbridge

A crew assisted a first responder with gaining entry to a property to assist the occupant inside who required medical assistance. Crews supported the first responder until the arrival of a road ambulance. Crew power was used to lift the occupant to the road ambulance for transport to hospital.

Time: 16:51 Location:  Water Lane, York

A crew responded to a fire at the base of tree. Crews extinguished the fire using knapsack sprayers and shovels. The cause the fire is believed to had been deliberate.

Time: 17:00 Location:  Southgate, Ripon

A crew responded to a request from police to inspect a vehicle leaking fuel.  Fire crews conducted an inspection and no significant fuel leak was located. No fire service action was required.

Crews from York (x2), Acomb, Reeth, Harrogate and Scarborough also responded to activated fire alarms. After inspection, these were confirmed as false alarms.
