Incident Summary – Night shift, Friday 22nd May
Time: 1743 Location: Holgate Road, York
Acomb crew assisted in lifting an occupier at a domestic property. Crew power used to assist, no injuries. Incident left with responsible person in attendance.
Time: 1803 Location: Barwick Terrace, Scarborough
Scarborough crew attended an area in the open to extinguish a fire involving a plastic waste bin. Bucket of water used. Cause believed to be accidental, dropped light.
Time: 1803 Location: Piccadilly, York
York crew attended a residential building to assist in lifting an occupant who had fallen in their room. Crew power used to assist, no injuries. Incident left with responsible persons in attendance.
Time: 1807 Location: Gladstone Street, Harrogate
Harrogate crew attended a domestic property following a report of flooding inside. This was confirmed to be flooding from a vacant property, also affecting neighbouring properties. Crews located stop tap and isolated water supply.
Time: 1811 Location: Station Road, York
Huntington crew attended to assist in releasing two persons from a defective lift on site. Small tools used by fire and rescue crew. Door was then able to be opened and persons released without injury. Advice given to responsible persons on site who also confirmed a lift engineer was en route.
Time: 1823 Location: Albany Avenue, Harrogate
Request from Ambulance via Police to assist with gaining entry to a domestic property, following concerns for welfare of occupier. Harrogate attended to meet paramedics and managed to gain entry through a first floor window using a triple extension ladder. Crew then allowed access for paramedics through door who confirmed no persons inside. Incident left with Ambulance.
Time: 1843 Location: Wigginton, York
York and Acomb crews attended a residential area to investigate a report of a fire in bushes, close to buildings. Crews extinguished a fire to approx. six metres of hedging and slight spread to an outbuilding, using one hose reel jet. Advice given.
Time: 2011 Location: Water Lane, York
Acomb crew attended the area and extinguished a fire smouldering within a tree stump. Crews used a knapsack sprayer to extinguish.
Time: 2048 Location: St Nicholas Cliff, Scarborough
Scarborough crew attended following a report of a smoke alarm sounding at a residential property. Following investigations, crew confirmed this to be a false alarm.
Time: 2105 Location: Amberley Street, York
Acomb crew attended a domestic property following a report of a smoke alarm sounding. Crew carried out full external search and confirmed this to be a false alarm, cause unknown, believed fault in detector.
