Incident Summary – Tuesday 26th May – Day Shift
Time: 07:53 Location: Rougier Street, York
A crew from York responded to an electrical bike on fire within the street this was believed to have been caused by a battery failure. Crews used one hose reel jet to extinguish the fire, area was cordoned off and incident left with Police.
Time: 08:01 Location: Northallerton
Crew from Northallerton responded to vehicle smoking within a car park, the cause being the engine had overheated. No action required by crews, advice given to owner.
Time: 08:42 Location: A61, Hutton Bank
Crews from Ripon and Harrogate responded to a road traffic collision involving a vehicle and a HGV alongside Police and Ambulance. Crews carried out an emergency extrication of the casualty trapped mechanically within the vehicle using spreaders, stabilization and edraulic cutting equipment. Casualty was transported to hospital via air ambulance.

Acomb crew responded to a automatic fire alarm, this was confirmed to be a false alarm caused by dust from workmen on site.

A crew from Malton responded to a automatic fire alarm, this was confirmed to be a false alarm caused by a faulty detector.

Skipton crew responded to a automatic fire alarm, this was confirmed to be a false alarm caused by testing of system.
Time: 12:14 Location: Musham Bank Road, Scarborough
A crew from Scarborough attended to a report of fire seen in the open. On arrival this was confirmed to be a fire measuring 5m x 5m. Crews used small tools and knapsack sprayers to dampen down, crews remained on scene for sometime continuing to dampen down the area and dig out hotspots.

A crew from Bentham and over the border appliance Hornby responded to a two vehicle road traffic collision. One casualty trapped in vehicle due to potential injuries, crews administered first aid to casualty until Ambulance crews arrived. Paramedics then checked the casualty over whilst crews assisted with scene safety.

Crews from Filey and over the border appliance Bridlington responded to a smoking fuse box within a retail premises. Crews used 2 breathing apparatus and 1 hose reel jet to extinguish the fire. Crews then used a positive pressure ventilation fan to clear the building of smoke.

A crew from Harrogate responded to a casualty that had fallen in the road. Crews administered Oxygen to the casualty whilst they awaited the arrival of Ambulance. Ambulance then transported the casualty to hospital.

Crew from Whitby responded to a automatic fire alarm, this was confirmed to be a false alarm caused by testing of system.
Time: 15:20 Location: West Grange Court, York
Crews from York and Acomb responded to smoke seen coming from a residential property with fire alarms sounding. On arrival this was confirmed to be a false alarm that had been caused by cooking. Crews used positive pressure ventilation fans to ventilate the smoke from the property.
Time: 16:18 Location: St Nicolas Cliff, Scarborough
A crew from Scarborough responded to a report of 5 persons trapped within a lift. Crews isolated the lift and safely rescued persons inside. Incident left with owner to arrange an engineer.
