Incident Summary – Thursday 28th May – Night Shift

Time: 18:19  Location: Hackness Road, Scarborough

A crew from Scarborough responded to a report of a tree that had been set alight. A small fire had been set at the trunk of the tree, crews used knapsack sprayers and spades to extinguish and dampen down the surrounding area. This was believed to have been set deliberately by youths.

Time: 19:00  Location: Oatlands Drive, Harrogate

A crew from Harrogate responded to a fire seen in the open, this was confirmed to be a BBQ with responsible persons in attendance. Advice given to extinguish the BBQ.

Time: 21:19  Location: Bond End, Knaresborough

Crews from Knaresborough, Tadcaster and Ripon responded to a deer stuck in the river. Swift water rescue crews entered the water to rescue the deer that had become trapped within a fallen tree, crews used animal rescue equipment to get the deer back onto the riverbank.

Time: 00:03  Location: Briercliffe, Scarborough

A crew from Scarborough responded to a report of a fire in the back garden of a residential premises. The fire had spread to the hedge measuring 4m x 1m and the adjacent fences. Crews used 1 hose reel jet to extinguish the fire.

Time: 00:54  Location: Scholla Lane, Northallerton

Northallerton Crew attended a residential property with concerns of a gas leak, gas detector used to check over the property and confirmed to be a false alarm.

Time: 03:20  Location: Thoresby Road, York

A crew from Acomb attended a residential property to assist Ambulance with removing a casualty from the property. Crews used crew power to get the casualty onto the Ambulance and left in the care of Paramedics.

 

Crew from Whitby, Lythe, York (x3), Tadcaster responded to reports of automatic fire alarms which were confirmed be to false alarms.
